Ranked pick order
So I've been playing a couple of games (around 200 or so) in ranked and I've noticed a lot of times that when I get last pick people that aren't first pick keeps calling me the worst player of the team and therefor trying to force me into the roles the other players don't want. In the beginning I could not much but agree cause I was really new to playing ranked but after a while I knew that I could handle myself and was going to help a lot more by getting given the ceratin role that I wanted at that moment. So one game (still a while ago) I asked why they thought I was the worst player when I ended up as last pick again. I got the answer "cause pick order is determined by ELO" and for a while I thought nothing more about it and just thought that maybe I end up being the worst in a lot of games and that's just how it is. But then when I was duo-queing with my friend I noticed that I was above him even though he had higher ELO then me. This made me wonder if the statement that ELO determines pick order truly was a correct statement and not just something someone missunderstood along the way. This made me do the simplest and most genious thing one can do... I googled it and the answer I found didn't really amaze me as much, cause what I found was this. In Solo/Duo Queue competition, the highest rated player on each team will always be given the privilege of choosing the bans and picking first. The remainder of the pick order is randomly constructed by the matchmaking system. This clearly states that it's not ELO that determines your spot at all besides first pick and ban, thus making the claims falls. So this makes me wonder.. Has there ever been any truths to these facts or have people just been misslead just like I was and simply believing it causing a false believe that was never truly true. Or is it as simple as me not correctly understanding the meaning of the text I just read? A answer to this question would be greatly appreciated. TL,DR: The claims that ELO determines pick order are false except for first pick which is awarded to highest ELO.
