Capturing video from recorded games: Removing the HUD

I want to make a video compilation of some of the great battles that I have recorded. I have the right software to make them into video clips but how do I remove the HUD so that I have a clear view of the battlefield?

Note: Sorry if I am using HUD wrong but I don't know what else to call it. I'm referring to the in game interface.
