Sleep Paralysis Terror
If you've ever suffered sleep paralysis, you know that the experience can be terrifying. You lose all your motor functions but you are able to look around and comprehend the events around you. This is often accompanied with hallucinations. This is a regular occurrence for me and this is one such hallucination.
I had just gotten home from a 15 hour overnight shift (which is not usual for me) at work and decided that I would just go straight to bed. As soon as I lay my head down on my pillow, I was asleep... but only for an hour, when I wake up to hearing a tremendously loud ringing sound in my ears. The ringing continued to get louder when I heard singing, in a very mocking, sarcastic tone, coming from the hallway of my apartment building, "We are his children. We are his children." The ringing in my ears gets louder but I can still hear the door to my apartment open and slam shut. "We are his children."
I can hear the singing getting closer to my bedroom door. I start to panic. I make every effort to sit up. But I can't move. I try rolling. My body still remains motionless. I try to thrash around in a desperate attempt to wake up. The noise in my ears gets louder and louder as I hear the voice getting closer.
I lay helpless as I see a woman passing through my door. She's wearing a dark robe and stands about five feet (1.5m) tall. I try to yell. Nothing comes out but a closed throat moan. Six demon looking creatures swarm in behind her. They were short, only about three feet (1m) tall, hunched over with no remarkable characteristics. Except the large pointed grin with two rows of crooked, jagged teeth. They are jumping around the room mocking me, as if they know I'm unable to move. "David David David! David David David!" I see the woman looking at me with only pure white eyes. Then one of the demons jumps onto my chest and screams, "DAVID!" My body finally reacts and I roll onto my side and immediately sit up. My bedroom is empty, but I can still hear the echo of the woman singing. I still hear it to this day, almost 3 years later.
