Need some direction for app..

Hello Android devs!

I am attempting to create my first app, but I'm having difficulty getting started. My app is a "photo-of-the-day," and what I would like it to do is show a different image every day with limited interaction from the user.

The idea is simple enough, but as a beginner I am not really sure where to start. I've done some reading on the Android developer site, fooled around with different components, and have browsed through this subreddit as well. If anyone can help direct me or give me some pointers, that would be great!
