Going through withdrawals and trying to keep my focus and demeanor with girl
I started dating this girl a couple of months ago. We had sex very fast although it put her mind in conflict with herself. Every time we have had sex, she goes into a pretty bad headspace after. She wanted to continue the relationship, but wants to not have sex for a while. This is extremely hard for me to do because I'm a bit of an addict, but I know that it's the right thing to do for the both of us. I find myself still pushing on her and we get close a couple of times, but we haven't gone over, we bring it back, mostly by her efforts. I've recently stopped my other sexual relationships with two other women, so I can get my head together and attempt to approach this with a high standard. I had sex with a woman 6 days ago and I am going through the dip associated with that right now.
I am used to going through the dip alone, but it is challenging to go through this with someone that you are trying to date. My withdrawal symptoms manifest themselves differently when I am around someone that I am dating. Generally, I will go through bouts of confidence then depression and no self-esteem. This comes up in the relationship setting and it just feels amplified, like my whole mind is on blast! Despite trying my best to withhold from sex, I am still in the habit of trying to do it and it just comes across as neediness. Plus, she wants me to step up and put the reigns on myself. The best I can do at this point is not be disappointed and try again. I have made several attempts to take her out and do things outside of my bedroom, like go to the park, study together, go to dinner. So I am increasing these activities, but I have the deep sense of lack that is pulling on my confidence.
I am going to get through this dip. I've done it a hundred times solo, but doing this while dating is a whole other animal.
