Anyone else feeling the chilly draft of apathy in the face of the dismantling of our Democracy?

Citizens United. The words alone are a libelous insult. Think of it like this. A private citizen can assume partial ownership of a business, by giving that business a certain amount of money for a stock certificate. If the business does well and profits increase, that piece of paper becomes more valuable. Since January 21, 2010, however, those profits are legally allowed to float off onto invisible clouds. Those profits that you as a shareholder are entitled to. This is a supreme court authorized ponzi scheme, and all we can talk about is drug legalization. How can a union employee decide if they want to keep paying dues if they can't even tell what causes the money is being used for. How can a shareholder possibly come to a conclusion on the solvency and stability of an institution if that institution is beholden to no one? If no record is kept of what the money is being used for, it is not only a ponzi scheme but the highest level of money-laundering.

Churches are no longer houses of worship but houses of idolatry. Mega churches are more concerned with political meddling than helping their community. Believe it or not, there once was a time that going to church was a reverent activity and nobody got tax returns on their tithing.

Private ownership of public institutions ranging from schools to prisons to post offices is degrading our essential government institutions into subsidized entrepreneurial endeavors. Endeavors that can, as noted above, now give unlimited sums of money to any political cause without as much as a signature.
