Can I get some help with a fun design?

I am trying to create a fun design for my buddies gaming tag "Tempest" I am running completely dry on ideas right now and I am hoping for some ideas, If anyone has any cool thought or something they could put down in a simple JPEG it would be vastly appreciated. It doesn't have to be anything super elegant, I want it to be more funny.

I have no idea where to begin here as I am not very good with typography. There is no real theme I had in mind, though I know he plays space games and shooting games but that is all I have to go off.

Any help I can get is greatly appreciated!
