Wireless not working, even though it says it's on...
My issue for about a week and a half: The wireless just stopped working. There is a light on my computer that shows amber/red if networking is off, and blue if it is on. It is always on the amber color. The wireless assistant may say it is turned on, but when I diagnose why I can't connect in the Windows wireless screen it says it's off and needs to be turned on. When I click to turn it on, it does nothing.
It's kind of an odd issue because the laptop is giving me conflicting information.
I found an article from the HP tech support website that shows my exact problem: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01631229&tmp_task=solveCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=3763221
I flashed the BIOS and I still have the same problem with no change. Does this mean I now need to look into buying a new wireless card? This is an oldish laptop (2008, I think) so that's what I'm coming to grips with, but if it's something stupid that needs to be done without having to order a part I'd like that.
There is no error in the device manager and everything (Drivers, Windows Update) is all up to date.
