Need ideas for Summer projects?

I'm currently working on a physics/math BS and hope to turn it into a MS in aerospace engineering. What are some hobby type projects I can do so that I'm ready to pick a specialty when I apply to grad school. Just from reading stuff in magazines and online I'm leaning toward propulsion systems but I'm open to anything.
