Humble attempt by a lurker @ fundraising advice for a good cause.

As a long-time lurker of reddit, I have seen the power and benefit that members of the reddit community have had raising funds for good causes. As a former classmate and acquaintance of the couple involved in the posted story, I feel that a lot of good can come through the generosity that the online community can offer. Unfortunately, I do not really know too much about the best way to undergo a massive online fundraising campaing. Any advice or assistance would be appreciated. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
