Need a new light for my goldfish tank. Can anyone suggest a good brand/type?

I have a 10 gallon tank with a single ~2" comet goldfish (Ramone), and some plants in glass bowls (wisteria, anacharis, and a reddish round-leaf plant that is either a cardinal plant or broad ludwigia). A few months ago I started having lighting problems with the hood light, until it finally gave out after burning out 2 new bulbs. It's not repairable, but I was hoping to find something not too expensive but good quality to replace it, my only difficulty being actually finding something that isn't just another one of the cheap aqueon hoods (which is what just died on me).

The tank is 20 inches long and I'm not too picky about lighting kind (fluorescent or LED), just what would be good for my fish and plants. Could some of you experienced fresh water fish keepers suggest something to narrow down my search? Thanks so much!

Also, since someone might ask, I change the water about every other week and check the pH and nitrites, nitrates, and ammonia. It's been at a steady 7.5 pH and 0 ppm for everything since I added the newer plants about 6 months ago (when the last of the older ones died). It's a little over a year old (as is Ramone). He's healthy, shiny, and has been growing and getting color in his once all white tail at a rapid pace this year and becoming less shy every day.
