(Spoilers ASOS and possibly all) Stannis

I am currently rereading ASOS right now and i am at the part immediately after the RW where stannis finds out about the events that just happened and he tells davos that he saw into the flames and said, "I saw a king, a crown of fire on his brows, burning... burning, Davos. His own crown consumed his flesh and turned him into ash." Since anytime a character has a dream or vision it tends to be foreshadowing or looking into the past. The dream tends to mean something. Now I am wondering if this is a vision to the past of Viserys death in AGOT or possibly a look into the future and maybe stannis's own demise. This could be nothing just wanted to see what other asoiaf addicts think.
