SoapClient with ssl certificates?

So I'm trying to connect to a webservice using SoapClient

	$wsdl = "https://...?wsdl";
	$pem = dirname(__FILE__) . '/mycert.pem';
	$client = new SoapClient( $wsdl, array( 'local_cert'=>$pem) );

mycert.pem contains my private rsa key and certificate but the server is refusing connection(I get the default page when surfing to $wsdl through the browser) so I can't access any of the data.

So my guess would be a bad certificate?

I exctracted the .pem file from a p12 file I have received from the client by running this command:

	openssl pkcs12 -in certificate.p12 -out mycert.pem -nodes

Any help/tip is very welcome.
