i know there's already been an ATLA hogwarts sorting discussion or two, but...

a.) there weren't that many comments on it, and b.) i didn't really agree with some of the OP's choices.

here's my two cents:

aang - hufflepuff. to quote one of the other posts,

"He avoids confrontation, and is incredibly friendly. He is fiercely loyal to his friends, going at great lengths to save them. He cares about animals. He goofs off a lot but works hard at learning his bending."

seems about right to me.

katara - gryffindor. i seriously can't see her in any other house. remember the speech she gave in "imprisoned?"

"Earthbenders! You don't know me but I know of you. Every child in my Water Tribe village was rocked to sleep with stories of the brave Earth Kingdom, and the courageous earthbenders who guard its borders. Some of you may think that the Fire Nation has made you powerless. Yes, they have taken away your ability to bend. But they can't take away your courage. And it is your courage they should truly fear! Because it runs deeper than any mine you've been forced to dig, any ocean that keeps you far from home! It is the strength of your hearts that make you who you are. Hearts that will remain unbroken when all rock and stone has eroded away. The time to fight back is now! I can tell you the Avatar has returned! So remember your courage, Earthbenders, and let us fight for our freedom!"

sokka - ravenclaw. he may have his derpy moments once in a while (a lot), but he tends to use his brains to get out of sticky situations. he's an excellent strategist, LOVES science, can make weapons out of nearly anything, conceptualized several great ideas including the waterbending-powered submarines and the controlled hot air balloon and is ALSO pretty damn good at haiku.

zuko - gryffindor. definitely. he starts out trying to catch the avatar because he thinks that's the only way his father will un-disown him (and, you know, all that "reclaiming my honor" stuff). once he realizes that ozai's being a total piece of shit, he does some soul searching and decides to do what he thinks is right.

toph - slytherin i'm gonna have to quote the other post again:

"Duh. She is cunning, hiding her double life from everyone, pretending to be terrible at bending, using her blindness to trick others so she can win, teaching the rest of them how to sneak into the party. Ambitious, she worked hard to become the grand champion "The Blind Bandit". She INVENTED metal bending, and was most definitely proud about it. Also she has a tough exterior and an almost jerk-like sense of humor, But on the inside she's a big old softy. Plus I couldn't see her wanting to be in any other house."

suki - gryffindor. her first response is to fight, usually, and she sticks up for herself when she feels like she's been wronged in some way.

iroh - ravenclaw. i mean, come on, he's like an all-purpose wisdom dispenser.

azula - slytherin. another duh.

i would totally include LoK characters in this if i had the time to type it all out. but yeah, feel free to discuss.
