Inadvertently corrected my shot today!

So a friend and I went out to the range to work on our stroke. I used to golf a lot in high school and I had the typical slice problem. I quit playing until last year when I decided to join league and play with him. It was great to be back and I was shooting almost better than when I went on hiatus!

However, I had a huge, odd shot issue: my slice had turned into a hook, sometimes a very considerable one. For the life of me, I couldn't figure out what I was doing so differently. I tried a lot of video advice, but it only sparingly worked and didn't really solve the problem. Then, I just happened to hit a really junk range ball with a cut in it. It felt awful and I could feel it all the way through my arms - but that ended up being what exposed the problem. My club actually twisted in my hand and when I went to reset it, I saw how much my hand position had changed. When I was on the downswing, I was twisting my wrists inwards when I made contact big time and I couldn't even tell!

Next round of shots, I hit 3 in a row that landed on the target green 250 out midair and sat, almost identical to each other. The accuracy and power change was remarkable and it stuck with me the rest of the bucket. I'd never been so excited about hitting my driver, even when I peaked in high school!

tl;dr - hit a junk ball, figured out I was turning my wrists in upon contact, improved my swing by a mile!
