Help with College

So i'm going to college next year and i'm really kind of worried that I'll be that one guy who just sits alone all and a doesn't talk to anyone. and I'm known to my friends as, "That awkward one", but there not going to be there next year so I just wanted to ask for some help on how to make a good first impression, gain some friends in college, and just generally how to be more extroverted.
