DIY chin-up bar that blends into door frame

My husband didn't want a chin-up bar setup that would make the house look cluttered and he wanted it to be easy to put away.

I got out the circular saw and some long pieces of scrap wood (cut to 2.75" by 1.5"), some old 3/4 inch gas pipe, white paint, and extended the door frame in our laundry room to fit the pipe. The pipe easily slides out for storage.

It came out looking better than I had hoped. This might be a good option for those of you renting, or those with fussy mates. I only used a few screws to keep the wood in place, so the whole thing can pack up when you move.
