Thoughts/stories on getting your bike (or part of your bike) stolen?

Hey r/bicycling!

So last night I get off the local train stop in Boston, unlock my bike and realize there is something different about it. Yes, my bike seat and post were missing...stolen. The part about this that makes me super angry is that the seat was nothing special. Probably a $20 seat but regardless, now I have to purchase a seat, post and clamp.

Looking back at it now, there were precautions I should have taken however someone still went through the effort of stealing my seat and is essentially a complete coward.

Anyway, I as I rode home 3 miles standing up on the pedals the entire time I realized that my anger began to increase. Now I am still furious about it and feel like someone had completely taken advantage of me.

Sorry for the rant Reddit, just wanted to share that there are assholes out there and will always look to take something that is not theirs, so be smart and lock everything up as best you can.

Anyone else have any WTF bike stolen stories?

Cheers!
