Is it difficult to remember a LD? and do we forget almost everything like normal dreams?

I was wondering, if we dont write them in the dream journal like normal dreams, do we forget them? Also does it feel like a 'past experience you only remember' or in the LD do you feel that you are in the present and you are living it 'live'?
