I am considering mounting a rear-facing camera on my bicycle in case of a hit-and-run. Would this be legal? Would the video evidence hold up in court? I don't want to waste $200 if it won't help.
Basically, I am a road cyclist. Lately all the stories I read about hit and runs, and how common they occur are starting to frighten me. I just want to protect myself in the event that it happens to me, and see that this type of person is punished accordingly.
Is there any issues with using video evidence when you don't have permission to be filming someone? Also, since there is no way for me to provide a warning that they are being filmed.
Any info appreciated! Thanks Reddit.
