I need a good, new gaming laptop, for under 1000 dollars. What do you recommend reddit?

I'm in need of a new laptop for gaming, and I would like to spend around 500 dollars, but I can go up to 1000 dollars. What laptops or brands would you recommend, Reddit? And for those of you who have custom built desktops, how much did it cost you to make, and what components did you use?

Please don't mention Falcon Northwest or AlienWare, as I have already looked into those and they are out of my price range.
