Earlier on, I majorly messed up a friendship by admitting my feelings. What shall I do now? (X-Post from AskReddit)
I posted this on here after being redirected. There is some additional information that you should know. I am a girl and I am 16. He's 15, but 16 next week. I have Asperger's Syndrome, while he is normal.
I have loved my friend for five years and we've gone through a lot, it's changed our friendship. Recently, I find him quite attractive, especially after his hair cut, before I mainly focused on his personality. I was a dumbass and decided to tell him that he was attractive and that I love him. He already knew that I loved him, but he wasn't so happy about the attractive thing. He thought I meant that I was sexually attracted to him, I am slightly, but that wasn't what I was implying. Anyway, he went crazy with me, calling me stupid. I was pretty embarrassed, all I could say was sorry. It's not my fault for having feelings for him, before, I've been denying and denying. I told him a year ago, but not since then. I'm scared that things are going to be bad again. I did ask him if he wanted me to continue what I was saying, he could of said no, I gave him a chance. I don't know whether I've done wrong, or he's overreacting. I don't want to lose him, he's my best friend. What shall I do?
We've been friends for five years, but he found out I had feelings for him two years ago. He didn't mind at first, but he claimed I was stalking him after he rejected the girl he liked and blaimed it on me, even though I had nothing to do with it. During this time, he would ignore me when I asked for an explanation. After a while, I ignored him too. Then, he would come up to me and talk to me, acting like a friend. Being gullible, I would talk to him and he would claim I was stalking him again. Eventually, we made up and he said he was sorry and that it was his fault. We fell out for an additional two weeks when he found my love poems that I had wrote, which I use to vent any emotions as I am autistic and have trouble expressing them. A year later, we fell out again for five months due to an unrelated issue.
I have some seperation anxiety and attachment issues, I will do anything to not be socially rejected by him. When I'm with him, I'm so weak. He loves to be in control, so he likes to boss me around a bit. I'm used to it of course. He can be an amazing friend, but he is just too dominating.
I don't want to lose him as a friend, I don't want to go through depression again and I've put too much effort in to let it go to waste now. What shall I do?
TL:DR: I told my rather dominating friend that I think he is a attractive and that adds to my love for him. He took this badly, said it was stupid and made me feel worthless for something that isn't my fault.
EDIT: We are not and never have been in a relationship.
