Will Republicans Politicize Fast & Furious?
After watching Bill Whittle's video, I thought about the following things:
- The vast majority of Americans don't know about F&F, even since the White House entered the fray.
- Bill Whittle might be right: this could be bigger than Watergate when you consider the fact that 300 Mexicans have died and 1 Border Patrol Agent (and former Marine) has died.
- Brian Terry's family is pissed and they aren't going to go away quietly.
- The AG (and by extension, the White House) were complicit in the murder of 300 Mexicans, which Hispanic voters can't ignore.
- The mainstream media is largely ignoring this story and any expectation they will start to cover it extensively is a pipe dream.
With all of this in mind, does anyone think Republicans will and should politicize this issue before the election? I'm not talking about Romney, but maybe a SuperPAC that raises millions to run TV ads? I think every American should know about this and that Obama should be judged with it in mind. I realize it distracts from Romney's laser-focus on the economy, but perhaps Romney can still hammer Obama on the economy and F&F can be a secondary message. Once you learn about it, I think this issue strikes a nerve with every group from gun owners, to Hispanics, to libertarians.
