"Five"
10:00 P.M. They are finally here! I’ve been waiting a few weeks to get this on my desk. It’s great working from home: Job pays great, and I only have to work once or twice a week. It seems about time for the week, ill just analyze what the team sent me and write my report on it next week. It should be great, Chelsea has been hyping her team’s trip to Peru for months now, all the funding is finally gonna pay off. I have to admit, I’m kinda nervous, I haven’t even opened the envelope yet, I figure I’m gonna post this to /Nosleep. I have been reading a few scary stories on there and hell maybe what I see in this Peruvian catacomb expedition will be sorta spooky and eerie. Hell, it will be ten times more real than the fake shit most of you read on here anyways. I haven’t watched the video yet, in fact the only people who have seen this are the lab boys, and apparently, they are in shock or something. It must have been a great find if they haven’t even contacted me yet. The video file itself is important, for a privately funded research company, they sure as hell didn’t skimp out on the secretive and armed transport. Where on earth did they get the money to do this anyways? Just last year, our budget was only about $7,000, barely enough to get proper equipment and tickets and guides. Whatever, it doesn’t matter now, all I know is this has to be important if the title sticker reads, “look at it straight away”. This seems like it’s straight out of a cheap b-movie conspiracy flick.
10:12 P.M.
I’ve opened up the envelope, and the contents are completely surprising. According to this letter they gave me, this is a copy of the original, and they have sent the original to the government. I get the money angle now, must be the feds who provided for the transport here. I swear it must have been hard for Deckard to convince the suits to give the “second-rate” archaeological analyst who works from home on his own time a copy of something that was escorted by the feds. Its no wonder their car is here. Anyways, I better not waste anytime and start looking at this.
10:14 P.M. The video is starting; I see Chelsea, Jason, Porras, and Vince in the car. I guess that leaves Dennis holding the camera then. They are driving on a very shanty dirt road, surrounded by large, rolling hills, and gigantic rock structures. Chelsea looks back at the camera whilst driving, she looks back at the road and then begins talking,
Chelsea: Hugh, Deckard, Packer, and the rest of you guys, we made it to Peru safe, lets just say Porras had a hard time on the flight.
Chelsea was just like I remember her: tanned skin, sun-colored blonde hair, and big blue eyes. You could land a plane on them they were so big. Even bigger was her smile; it always lit me up when I saw it, at least. Porras started to talk.
Porras: Did not! I swear, I wasn’t puking; I was just a little under the weather.
Jason smirked at Porras,
Jason: Don’t let the big man fool you, just because he can take down a grizzly bear with his bare hands doesn’t mean he can handle high altitude.
They continue to bicker about the details of the flights, mostly Vince complaining about the heat and the peanuts. Typical of him, I am starting to wonder if every person in Europe gets a royal treatment, at least that is what Vince makes it seem like. Anyways, they continue driving and then they stop at a dead end.
Chelsea: This is where the road ends; we are on foot from here.
Vince: All right, time to start hiking, you guys get out first, I’ll get the food.
Dennis: I’ll help get the stuff out of the car. Better act quickly before the piece of shit collapses under the weight of it.
That was the first time I have ever heard Dennis complain about anything. Hell, it was the first time I have heard him speak longer than a second. He’s a very quiet person. I guess being around his team and only his team helped him open up.
The video cuts to Porras descending an ancient looking stone staircase that led down to a small stone structure. It was built like a Mayan pyramid; only it was nowhere near as large. It was about a little bigger than a garage. There were etchings and carvings on the outside of the stone, both on the staircase and the temple. They were too withered to see and no one on Earth knew the language of the civilization we had just discovered, so there is no point in going on further about them. The surrounding area was the same grassy, rolling hill environment. I looked at the time; five days had passed since they parked their car. I can’t believe they had been on foot walking for five days!
Jason: So this is it, eh? Thought it would be more imposing than that. I guess it’s worth walking for five days.
Jason, Vince, and Chelsea move into the shot. Vince waves at the camera, like anyone actually cares about him. Porras is almost to the temple entrance now; it doesn’t have a door, just a hole there big enough for a human to get into. Dennis turns off the camera and turns it back on. They are now inside this temple. Dennis pans the camera around the interior. Looks typical of South American ruins. For how far away Peru was from Mexico, Nicaragua, and Venezuela, it looked strikingly like Aztec, but almost like it came before them.
Porras: Watch your step in here, this place is the oldest structure in the world, and I doubt it is stable.
Chelsea points to the ground, getting the attention of the camera. There are sticks with stone bits on the end, very old looking too.
Chelsea: There are tools on the ground, they look like they were used to embalm, they have been broken for long though.
Vince: There is a sword here, it looks-
As Vince picks up the sword, it breaks and turns to dust. The particles fall to the floor.
Chelsea: Good going dumb ass, better not break any more artifacts.
Jason: Yeah, fool of a Took, he-he
Jason looks around; he snaps his head back to the camera and talks to Dennis.
There are steps that lead down here.
Dennis: It must be a tomb; maybe we can take this opportunity to learn about their gods and tools.
Vince: Aw hell, there is no damn way I am going down there, I hate dark, cramped, and disgusting places and this is no different.
Porras: Fine then, miss out on the opportunity of your lifetime.
Chelsea: What was the point of you even coming to Peru if you didn’t plan on exploring what we found?
Vince was really getting heat from everyone.
Vince: Alright, alright. I’ll go down there, just don’t wander off without me, and get a torch up or something.
They start heading down the stairs. Dennis is panning the camera and getting his lamp out near the camera so the camera can capture the footage. He turns the camera off, I think it was accidental though, his wrist hit the camera and it turned off. The video came back on a few minutes later. They were in a cramped hallway made of cobblestone with vines creeping into the rock and eroding parts of it here and there. There was no natural light there either; all of it came from the flashlights. There were some ancient pots and vases on the floor against the wall, but I think they didn’t see them.
Jason: this place is really damp, smells rotten down here.
Porras: Well its ‘cuz of all the dead bodies Jason.
That’s weird, I didn’t see any bodies, it was probably when Dennis wasn’t recording. Suddenly Dennis panned behind him, there were a few skeletons, they weren’t embalmed either.
Vince: I don’t much mind the smell, not as bad as I thought a place like this would.
Vince wasn’t in the shot, but slowly started moving into it. He was in the middle of the group; I could tell he was afraid down there.
I care more about how dark and wet it is, we have got to stick together or else we are gonna get lost.
Porras: Agreed.
Chelsea: This place is huge, Hugh, you would love it here.
When she said that I melted a little. That warm, fuzzy feeling.
Dennis: Guys, we need to make a systematic way of exploring this place.
Vince: Good luck with that, I’m just following Chelsea she has the torch.
Porras: Just call it a damn flashlight “mate”, besides, we all have one check your pack.
They all stopped for a minute while Vince fumbled around in his backpack.
Vince: Ah, there it is.
They picked up and continued, Vince started to walk in front of the group.
Jason: stay behind Porras Vince; he’s got the gun.
Vince: What’s a gun gonna do here? Everything is dead already.
Chelsea: Never know, could be animals looting the place for food.
Just as she said that, there was a noise from down the hall, sounded like something drinking water and then swimming around in it. It was unnerving, to think that something was living here, an animal, but still. They stopped for a moment in their tracks; Porras pulled his gun for a second almost instinctively, but then holstered it. They started to move forward into the darkness.
Vince: speaking of, whatever it is, just shoot it. I hate noises in places like this.
Chelsea: You have only been on one other excavation before, and you didn’t even go into the pyramid.
**Vince: Yeah, well I was working on my tan. **
Dennis: Admit it, you are afraid of places like this.
Vince: Of course I am, it would do you good to be too.
10:33 P.M. Nothing much has happened over the course of the past five-ten minutes, no one even talked, they just sorta walked forward. They passed up on a few side rooms, and continued forward. They got to the end of the hall, but it’s a dead end.
Chelsea: This is where the main passageway ends.
Jason: There are still a bunch of other ways back there and some of them looked interesting.
Chelsea: yeah, but I want to make sure that we fully explore this area first, then mark it so we know we have been here before.
Porras: Always thinking ahead. I like that.
Chelsea: I’m taken Porras.
I laughed and then melted some more.
Porras: Oh I wasn’t trying to-
Vince: Smooth big guy
Vince turned around, more carvings in the wall.
What’s this?
Jason moved up to further inspect the etchings. He took a knee by them as he stared.
Jason: They look like etchings; they have seen better centuries, although they are in surprisingly good condition compared to the ones outside the temple.
Vince: Go on, tell us what they say.
Jason: does it look like I can read them? I haven’t studies this language before, hell no one has, we just discovered the damn civilization. From what I can tell though, they predate the Mayans, the Aztecs, and most of the others in Central and South America. It looks like it could have been the root of the Aztec language. However, the Aztecs never wrote down anything.
Vince: So you can’t read it?
Chelsea: No one can. Let’s just look at the pictures they made to go along side them.
Vince: Brilliant.
The picture was easy to see unlike the other etchings. It showed a priest or some figure pointing his staff at a door while five people walked towards the door.
Jason: This looks like a ceremonial room then. They have five people go into the room here.
Porras: We have five people, that’s right.
Chelsea: Just a coincidence.
Jason: Well apparently this dead end is not just a decoration, it’s a door and we need to find a way to get through to the other side.
Dennis: The damn thing is covered in vines; I didn’t even know it was a wall.
Porras: Time to bushwhack!
Porras pulled out his Swiss Army Knife and cut the vines, after about five minutes he moved away from the door. He sort of stared at it for a minute then moved out of the shot. The door was disturbing. It showed a creature of some sorts, it was horned and had five tongues. The door was in the best condition out of everything in that tomb. It looked like it could have been carved a few days ago, much less a few centuries. The group looked at it for a few seconds, Dennis making a disgusted noise.
Vince: How heart warming.
Dennis: Get that door open, I don’t want to stare at this fucking carving anymore.
Chelsea: It’s very unnerving.
Porras: Maybe If we just use these tongues to pull down the door.
Chelsea: No, I don’t want to damage anything here.
Vince: We all have to make sacrifices Chelsea.
Porras grabbed a tongue and pulled very slightly, the door shifted, the tongues were designed as handles, and Porras signaled everyone to help budge the door open.
**Jason: There are five tongues guys, lets help him. **
Dennis set down the camera to help pull the door open, everyone started to help too. The camera was pointing right at their feet. I could see them shuffle around in the dark, trying to not bump into each other. Once they all got into position, Dennis started a countdown.
Dennis: On three: one, two, three!
They didn’t have to exert much effort. In a few seconds of pulling, the door slid open with a loud grinding sound. It didn’t look like a huge ordeal; the door sustained the withering of time very well. If that were any other door, it would have taken tools to break it down, or a few minutes to carefully jimmy the damn thing open. The door opened up outwards like a set of double doors. They went inside and Dennis went back to pick up the camera. Dennis brought it into the room they just discovered. It was massive to say the least. The place was a large circular room, with an atrium at the top where light had somehow made it through. However, it shined a bluish hue on the room, very offsetting. The light revealed a fountain in the middle, and it was still filled with water remarkably. And it wasn’t any old water either; it was sparkling like it was pure. Other than the fountain, there were some columns in the place that looked like they were decorations, rather than load-bearing struts. There were also five slabs on the perimeter of the room, they were evenly spread out amongst the room and looked like they could be doorways.
Dennis: This place is huge!
Jason: If Deckard were here now, he would be going crazy, probably pissing himself right now watching this.
Chelsea: I’m going to update our location on the GTR. That should let them know where we are.
Vince: Good, now when we die in here, they can come and scrape up our corpses.
Jason: Quit the bitching man, you’re gonna look back on this and it’s gonna be the highlight of your life.
Vince: Sure, the highlight of my life will be being in a dark cramped cave made by cavemen.
Chelsea: Well this place isn’t cramped anymore, and it sure as hell was not built by cavemen.
Dennis started to pan the camera around the ground; he set down his lamp and pulled out his flashlight. After he got his flashlight out of his bag, he saw skeletons illuminated by the light of the lamp. There must have been dozens of them, they scattered the ground everywhere. They were in bad condition even for skeletons, but that was to be expected considering how old this place was.
Dennis: Oh shit, guys, look at all the skeletons.
Everyone looked around closely on the ground, they saw the remains and started to panic.
Vince: Aw, fuck. Can we leave now?
Jason took a knee by one of the skeletons, he shined his flashlight around the dead guy’s body, a handle caught his attention and he moved the flashlight over it. It revealed his sword.
Jason: They are holding or died near their weapons.
Porras: You think this place could be some ancient coliseum?
Chelsea: No, these skeletons aren’t the same ages. There got to be around thirty in here.
Jason: They probably sent five at a time down here every maybe, twenty years.
Vince seemed puzzled by the bodies.
Vince: This civilization only lasted 120 years?
Jason: Or they started sacrificing late.
Chelsea: I haven’t seen anything here to indicate what god of theirs they might be sacrificing to.
Dennis: What about that pool of water?
They all started to move towards it, Dennis brought the camera right up to the pool, from here I could see that there was a small hole in the center, large enough for water or small bugs to get through, but too small to place your hand in. The water was magnificent looking, it looked like it could be cleaner than New York City tap water and was “prettier” than what you would see on a Poland Spring bottle.
Vince: Must be a natural aquifer of some sort, could be their “water god”.
Jason: You’re right about the aquifer, the water is still in this fountain, and it looks like it comes from underneath it.
Jason reached his hand out and touched the water, he pulled back immediately and shook his hand.
It’s really hot
While he shook his hand he looked down, something caught his attention, there seemed to be an indented line that led to somewhere in the room, Jason circled the fountain, he found five of these lines.
There are little lines that go from the fountain to five points. Let’s follow them.
Everyone started to trace the lines back, Dennis followed one and it led to a stone slab, kind of like a stepping-stone. It had a footprint etched onto it. Dennis looked around to everyone else who seemed to have followed his or her line back to a corresponding stone. They were all standing the same distance away from the fountain, and the same distance apart from one another. Together, they formed a giant circle around the fountain.
Porras: My line leads to a stone.
Chelsea: Mine too.
Vince: Same with me.
Jason: Yep.
Dennis: Maybe let’s try and stand on them, try to envision how this would go down.
Vince: Good idea, maybe then we can get killed just like they did.
Jason: Relax this is well before any mechanization of any sort, there is no way in hell that anything could happen without a human being actually doing it.
As they got into position they were uneasy, I could tell. They finally and reluctantly all stood on a stone. At first nothing happened and Vince sighed. Then the camera shook, there was rumbling. The water in the fountain started to steam and filled up the center of the room. Dennis became startled and started to pan the camera around. Everyone else had the same reaction as Dennis. The steam covered Vince and Chelsea, but I could here them asking what was going on. Then there was a roar, unlike any animal I have ever heard. It was sinister, evil, dark, and demonic. It filled up the chamber but no one could tell where it was coming from. Then right after, there was a loud grinding sound and Dennis panned the camera back towards the entrance. The door they had came through shut itself. The chamber started to shake and rumble.
Jason: What the fuck!
Porras: We’re trapped!
Vince: Shit! Shit! Shit!
Then, the five slabs at the perimeter around the room opened up to reveal passageways
Chelsea: Porras get your gun.
Porras: We need to move now!
Chelsea: No, we don’t know what is in those five pathways; this is the safest place to be.
Vince: Like hell it is!
Jason: There is no way we are staying here.
Then, just like the roar, there was loud laughter. I tried to use sound detection to see where it was coming from but the audio was recorded in mono. Even then, the laughing sounded like it came from everywhere. It was so loud and it made me shake and my heartthrob.
Vince: RUN!!
Vince points at a passageway, the middle one across from Porras. Porras starts to run, then Jason, then Vince, and finally Chelsea and Dennis come following them. Dennis starts to pass in front of Vince, the tunnel is dark and the camera is pointed at the ground, shaking violently due to them running.
Dennis: Stay close, keep moving.
Vince: Go! Go!
Chelsea: We have no idea where we are headed; we could run right into this damn thing.
Porras: That’s why I have a gun.
I can see Porras’s arm come up to stop the group. Dennis lifts the camera for a second, everyone is panting hard and their flashlights aren’t concentrated on one spot, rather they are shaking around looking everywhere. The hallway to their left collapses and causes the one in front to collapse as well too.
Vince: Fuck!
Dennis: Right! Right!
Jason: Move, run!
They all start to run into the right passage, they run for a few seconds and then I hear a thud, the camera passes Vince who is on the floor now, he is trying to get himself up as fast as he can.
Vince: Ah shit, help me help!
The group runs for a minute and then stops realizing Vince needs help, Chelsea signals the group to keep going and runs back to help Vince. Dennis, Porras, and Jason run forward, but the passage starts to shake even more violently, Dennis turns around and sees Chelsea helping Vince up.
Dennis: Chelsea! Vince!
The ceiling of the hallway collapses in front of Dennis, crashing down on Chelsea and Vince.
Porras: NO!
Jason: For God’s sake, turn off the damn camera Dennis.
The camera goes off.
Tears start to fill up my eyes. She can’t be dead, this didn’t happen. Why? Why her? Why them? I covered my eyes up with my hands, and I cried for a few minutes. Thousands of thoughts came running through my head: Why didn’t they tell me this happened? Why haven’t we gone there and done something about this? Are they still alive? I don’t want to finish this video, I can’t finish this video. I looked up at the clock, 10:50 P.M. I decided I had to finish the video, to see what happened, maybe someone got out. Chelsea would want me to see the video. I don’t know if I should even bother posting this. This is becoming too personal, and to be honest. This is too real for a website like this. I’m not gonna post it.
12:20 A.M.
I’ve had a few beers and tried and talked to a few people. They said I had to finish the video, and they were sorry for my loss. They said it was vitally important that I had not told anyone about this, and I finished the video.
Fuck the feds. I’m posting this. This has to get out, people have got to know that things like this exist; they have to know about this place. And they have to be afraid. I’m going to watch and log the rest of this video.
12:23 A.M. The camera goes back on, Dennis, Jason, and Porras are walking in a long hallway. Porras has his flashlight out, and is leading the group. Jason is extremely sullen; I could tell by the way he was walking. Dennis held the camera on his shoulder. The shaking of the catacombs has stopped now, everything seems to be quiet.
Dennis: Look, I have a feeling we aren’t going to make it out of here.
Jason: You bet your ass we are. If we have to go down, it’s screaming and kicking. And that is not gonna happen, we are gonna get out of here alive. I’m not going to let Vince and Chelsea down.
Porras: Don’t give up yet Dennis.
Dennis: I’ll try not to, but in the mean time, I think its best to have this recorded, just incase. Just so they know what happened.
Porras: No, Dennis can’t you see we are in a life or death situation? And you’re worried about filming this damn thing? You need to wake up; you’re in shock man.
Jason: No, Vic, he’s right. To be real about it, there is a great chance we don’t get out. And in that case I want this on film as proof. If there is one thing that is certain, it is that they will find this footage and find us, alive or dead. Chelsea’s GTR was updated a few hours ago; they will come looking for us.
Porras: Alright fine, but if you get in trouble Dennis, you turn that thing off. Your first priority is to stay alive, and if you have to drop the camera to do so, so be it. And Jason, don’t call me Vic. There is a reason everyone calls me by my last name.
Jason: Desperate times-
Porras: Not now.
They keep walking into the tunnel. Porras’s flashlight is steady and is pointing forward. Even so, the path ahead is still almost pitch black.
Dennis: I should have picked up my lamp back there.
**Jason: You would have died if you did. **
Dennis: When you put it that way-
Porras: Please don’t think about what happened back there, it would just get us even more depressed. Focus on getting out alive.
3:12 A.M. They walk silently for a few hours. Porras is leading the group. He stops for a second, looking puzzled.
Jason: We have been here before Porras, we are lost.
Porras: This place is like a goddamn maze.
**Dennis sits down for a sec and grabs some food out of his backpack.
Dennis: Let’s rest a bit.
Porras: Maybe food will clear out minds.
Jason: I’m starving. **
They start eating their sandwiches. They eat fast and pick up their stuff. Porras leads again, they continue forward. After about half an hour they get to a familiar intersection, they decide to head left instead of forward this time. After a few minutes of walking they hear a noise.
**Dennis: What was that?
Jason: Porras, the gun.**
Porras pulls his gun and signals Jason and Dennis to wait; Porras turns the corner slowly, and then signals the guys to follow. It leads to a large and empty room filled with weapons and engravings. Jason moves up to the etchings to inspect them.
**Porras: Jason! No, not now.
Jason: Relax; it could be a map or something useful.**
Jason kneels by the etchings and looks at them for a little while, etchings are too far from the camera and it is too dark to see them. Dennis stays by Porras. All of a sudden, the catacombs start to shake.
**Jason: Oh shit. **
The laughter from before comes back, and the catacombs start to shake even more.
Porras: Run let’s go!
Dennis: Come on Jason!
They start running out of the room and keep running, the camera was shaking and it was hard to see what was going on. They ran for a minute, and then the catacombs stopped shaking. They stopped running and stopped up against a wall, they were panting and breathing heavily.
Jason: That was close, that fucking thing is after us.
Porras: Yeah, Jesus. We better pick up and move.
Dennis: Give me a minute will ya.
After a few minutes of panting and gasping for air, they got up and started. Jason gave a signal to wait for him, but Dennis and Porras said he had to get up. Dennis and Porras started to move forward.
Jason: Guys wait up
Jason got up and started to walk towards Dennis and Porras who were a few yards ahead of him. Suddenly the loud roar came back.
**Porras: Fuck move!
Dennis turned the camera back at Jason.
Dennis: Jason lets go!**
Jason started to pick up the pace, and ran towards the camera. Then all of a sudden he was tripped, he screamed and started to crawl forward. Something pulled him and he was dragged into the darkness, screaming.
**Dennis: Jason!
Porras: No, you bastard! Take this you fucker!**
Porras drew his gun and turned fired shots into the darkness.
Jason?
Suddenly, Dennis was being pulled back by something and dropped the camera on the ground. He started to scream.
Dennis: Porras! Help!
The camera fell facing Dennis, who was being dragged away just like Jason. Shots came from behind the camera going towards the direction of Dennis. A few seconds later Dennis and Jason were heard screaming, then nothing. Porras started to cry.
Porras: You fucking monster, you’re gonna pay.
The monster roared from down the hall, and suddenly a large black shadow darted towards the camera and knocked it into the wall. The camera landed pointing towards Porras, who was firing his gun at the thing. Porras was backing away out of the shot, while an eight-foot tall; winged beast was walking towards him. It spread out its arms to show its massive claws, the five horns on its head were bloodied and large. Its tail swung about the walls and slapped around behind it. Its skin was blacker than its shadow and the darkness that filled the catacomb. It looked like it was covered in black flowing water and blood. It was only on screen for a second, but it sent chills down my spine and made me shiver like a cold winter night. It roared and walked slowly towards Porras.
Porras: Stay back! Stay back!
It laughed as Porras shot it. Then it spread its mouth open, I couldn’t see its ghastly face from behind it, but I could see its large tongues. It had five large tongues. The demon’s tail hit the camera and turned it around. Five shots were fired and then there was a clicking noise.
Porras: No! Fuck! No!
I could hear Porras’s screams. He kept screaming no, as I heard the Demon consume him. I sat there and cried for another few minutes. I noticed there was a lot of time remaining on the video and decided to fast-forward until the end. However after skipping ahead a few hours, I saw movement on the camera. I played the video.
It was Chelsea and Vince.
They were still alive; hope filled me as I wiped the tears out of my eyes. I watched as she picked up the camera.
Chelsea: Oh god, oh no.
Vince: Chelsea, its Porras.
Chelsea: The thing killed him too.
Chelsea pointed the camera at Porras’s mutilated body, his body was ripped open and his innards had been eaten. I had to run to the bathroom to throw-up. When I came back she was crying. I watched and cried along with her for a few minutes, and then she regained her strength and decided to push on.
Vince: I got his gun Chelsea; whatever killed him ate a lot of bullets.
Chelsea: Let’s go, the exit is this way.
Vince: We all have to make sacrifices Chelsea.
How could she know that? I watched for a few minutes and heard Vince and her talking about a map of some kind. Apparently, she had drawn it down on paper after seeing it on an engraving. It got them this far so it must be right. They walked for a minute or so, the catacombs started to rumble again, and Chelsea and Vince started to run again. Chelsea dropped the camera, it turned off on impact.
5:00 A.M.
I sat there anxious about what would happen next. Suddenly, the picture came back. Vince was lying there on the ground, dead. Oh god. The time was about six hours later, the battery was about to go out. Then, I heard a footstep and something picked up the camera. It pointed the camera at itself. It was Chelsea.
Chelsea: Listen, Deckard, Packer, Hugh, and everyone. We are trapped here, in this catacomb in Peru. I updated my GTR just now so you know where I am. That thing is following us. We were being chased by this demon, it killed everyone and now it’s coming.
It roared. The low battery warning beeped.
Chelsea: I don’t have much time, this place, it’s a giant maze built by this civilization. Every twenty years they send five of their best warriors here to be sacrificed to this demon. I saw it on the engravings. It’s true. They tried to kill this thing, but they failed. Eventually they stopped sending people down here, and the demon wiped out their civilization.
It roared again this time closer. Chelsea looked up this time breathing even heavier. She grabbed the gun that Vince was holding and reloaded. The catacombs started to shake violently. The camera beeped more and more.
Chelsea: Hugh if you are watching this, I love you. Goodbye.
She got up and started to shoot the gun. She shot twelve times as the catacombs started to shake even harder. The demon roared again. The beeping became faster and faster, then the video stopped. The camera died.
I stopped the video and then cried for the next few hours. I was contemplating suicide and I took the pills in my cabinet. I cried as I put six of them in my mouth and drank a gulp of water. I took out four more and then Deckard came bursting into my door, he screamed “Hugh, don’t she wouldn’t want you to do this”, but it was too late.
I woke up in a hospital bed, Deckard was standing there. I looked at the time and date, it had been five days. Apparently, I was in a coma for five days. That medicine was strong, I nearly killed myself. I would have if not for Deckard, bastard.
Deckard: I found your laptop. I know you plan on releasing this to the public illegally.
I lay there trying to ignore him.
Deckard: All, I’m gonna say is I completely support you doing this.
I looked at him, tears still rolling down my eyes.
**Deckard: Listen, we caught the government’s attention, they want you to be up and to the airport by Saturday, they are gathering a team to go to Peru. They want to find this location.
Me: And then what?
Deckard: I don’t know, they said they’d pay a lot of money though, apparently they need us.**
It was silent for a moment.
**Deckard: Look, I know this is hard for you; you two had something, really special. But we need to do this; we need to find this thing that killed our guys, and your girlfriend. We need to find it and kill it, and you have the honor of doing that.
Me: Bullets don’t hurt it Deckard, haven’t you seen the video?
Deckard: We studied it immensely for the past five days. We think we may know how to kill it.
Me: We are gonna find this thing, and we are gonna send it straight back to hell.
Deckard: For Chelsea.
Me: For everyone: Chelsea, Vince, Porras, Jason, and Dennis**
I was in the hospital for a few more hours, then I was good to go, I packed my bags and headed straight to the airport. I heard they have a private jet for us. I won’t be able to type any on the plane, so I’m gonna post this now. To all of you reading this, don’t make the mistake of thinking this is just a story. It is far more than that, it happened. I need to spread the word to everyone as much as possible before the suits find out. Tell everyone you know. It’s important, there is tangible and scientific proof that demons like these exists, and the sooner everyone believes, the sooner we can stop them from killing anyone else. In the past few days, I have with the help of Packer located hundreds of off map sites hidden by governments of the world that hide the same demons from attacking our world. They are everywhere, and their vicinity to our cities and homes is disturbing. We have to find a way to kill thing, then we can eradicate all the others. But until then, all you can do is believe me.
