Interested in making a game, help?

ever since i played Terraria i have always been interested in making game similar to it, but less "sand-boxy" and more leaning toward RPG side scrolling. I really have no Experience with any sort of coding, i have played around with flash. but flash really doesn't seem professional. Does Anyone have Any idea where i could possibly start to learn how coding and games Relate? and possibly start to make a game from there?
