Bloodbending Aang[Spoilers]

So, in the finale, Noatak says that, "The avatar is the most powerful thing". Korra resists Noatak's bloodbending, and she isn't even fully realized at that time. Why couldn't Aang resist Yakone's bending at all, even while Yakone was bending tens of people?
