Why is everyone complaining about repair costs?
I just don't understand it: is my gear so bad that repairs aren't prohibitively expensive or something?
I have a Barb in Inferno A3 and I've found that every time I die, I lose the equivalent of 5k gold. Sometimes in a 5 stack NV buff farm run I die maybe 5-6 times in a one hour setting. That's 30k gold. If you count general wear and tear, let's add another 5k to that: 35k gold. And yet, at no point do I actually lose any money from doing the run in the first place. I suppose if your repair costs are like 10k PER death then it might be a bigger dent, but still.
Do people not pick up gold piles? Do they not pick up blues? Blues take about half a second to pick up and equally as long to sell (each blue in inferno can be anywhere from 300-800g). Crappy rares still sell for anywhere from 800-1500g. You get probably around 1-2k gold (I'm estimating pretty freaking low here for rares/elites. I usually get a lot more, even with just the 100% gf from NV stacks + random equip that has it) every time you kill a champion pack.
Then you factor in the ~200-400 or so gold you get from chests, corpses, etc. and the 100-200 gold you get constantly from killing white mobs randomly while farming...and I don't get how repair costs matters at all.
And really, if you're dying more than you can handle repair costs with, perhaps there's something you need to fix with your playstyle or gear.
I just don't get what all the fuss is about and how it ruins the game.
Can someone enlighten me?
