How do I keep my car from burning me when I sit in it?

I'm moving from Wisconsin to Dallas in 2 weeks and I've heard that I should get a covered parking spot at my apartment. I heard that, of course, after I signed a lease where I don't get a covered parking spot. What are your suggestions to help keep my car from being unbearably hot?
