Visiting Student?

Kind of an odd question. I transferred TTT to T14 last year (both on the east coast), but I really REALLY want to be in California, which is where I intend to practice. Anyone have any idea if transfer students can do the visiting-3L thing? I'm kind of hesitant to ask my school, for obvious reasons.
