"Blink until end of turn" at end of turn?

Someone on Cockatrice used a trick I had never seen before, but I couldn't understand how it worked so he kindly stopped using it. Here is what he did:

He blinks a creature (using a card like Mistmeadow Witch) at the end of turn X. Then he says that the creature DOES NOT re-enter the battlefield at the end of turn X. Instead, it would remain in exile until the end of the next turn, X+1.

Contrast this with activating Mistmeadow Witch during the main phase, which would cause the creature to re-enter the battlefield at the end of turn X instead of the turn after.

So my question is: Does this work?

edit: ah, i guess this works, by my understanding of this excerpt. So end of turn effects occur, then there is a round of priority during which things can be blinked. is this correct?
