Anybody noticed elements of Cancer in "Brave"?

Brave got out June 22nd.

Cancer: June 20th (or the 21st depending on the leap year) -July 22nd

Cancer rules the moon and the Family (oftentimes the parents). Cancer also holds on tightly to what they want and need in life and tries to start something new (Hence Cardinal tendencies)

Featurette was called "La Luna" translating, to "the Moon" in Italian. (if I can assume French is related to Latin, which latin is related to Italian, [fyi, featurette was produced in Pixar Italy], therefore the same thing.)

The featurette featured a family, a grandfather, a father, and the little boy. Even though the featurette was silent, it was apparent to see that the two men wanted the boy to mimic themselves. However, there is competition within the grandfather and the father, both wanting the boy to follow in their footsteps. When they were on the moon, and on the boat it was apparent that they were trying to manipulate the boy to follow their own path. However, as the plot progressed, the boy in the end chose his own path. Hence the hat turned to the back, successfully solving the star problem by himself, and he got a rake instead of a broom that the men had, the rest of his family. And together in peace they continued to sail the ocean, both the men proud of the boy for what he accomplished on the moon.

Brave was about a freedom loving Scottish princess named Merida who just wanted to be herself, romp around the scenery of Scotland with her horse, Angus, and perform archery. However, her doting mother, the queen, had other plans in mind, training her to become a princess and get married, as traditional customs followed throughout Scotland, which throughout the story line, had strained their relationship. As the plot progressed, her mother turned into a bear and Merida had to break the curse that turned her mother into a bear, which brought a tension between her suitors’ families. When the curse was broken, Merida finally had a better relationship with her mother, and there were peace between the families, she got what she wanted.

In Scotland, A Clan is considered a combination of Families under one single family ancestor.

In the end, it was no coincidence that the movie (about family, not tradition), and the featurette’s release date was during the period that the sun entered in the Family centered Cancer. Although people might tend to stay inside those months, somehow, I think the movie would be a hit with families. Lesson: You can amend relations with estranged family members.

Ironically, I’m a Cancer, and on my father’s side, I’m Scottish.

Food for thought.
