Creativity Deficit

Hello all, I've been playing minecraft for about two years, and I can't seem to build anything worth looking at. I've become mod on a server recently and I'm embarrassed to make cities, the only one I made was the market-seaside city named "Aquallis" and players have rated it "Mediocre".

I'd like to build better creations, I'm constantly looking at other people's structures, being invisible while players build to see what they do, but I just can't seem to get anything right.

Link to the album is my previous build, Aquallis.

(Sorry if there is somewhere else I should be posting, I read the rules and there was nothing.)
