I tried to convince my mother on letting me dye my hair, and It completely backfired. Any help?
She drove me to tears that is how horrible she reacted to it.
Basically her argument was that every. single. person. who would choose to dye their hair either needs more attention, or isn't happy with themselves to they need to do something drastic to please themselves.
I tried to defend that but every word I made was an automatic, " Nope, you're wrong no matter what you say, I'm absolutely right and your stupid little brain can't handle that. "
First of all, I think I know enough to realize that most people who would like to dye their hair don't want attention, but just want to change their appearance to their own liking, whether they like their own hair color or not.
I want to dye it for fun, I'm not planning on having the same color for the rest of my life, and I know If I dye it I'll get looks, but I don't care about that.
My mother says that I should care what people think of me, but then she's always saying that she doesn't care what people think of her at all. I don't understand her logic right there.
She thinks it's strange if someone has pink hair, and that it isn't normal.
I cannot convince her otherwise, can somebody please help?
