Can i save this short sale?

I recently made an offer on a house that was a short sale, the sellers banks (they have a second mortgage) both approved it. During the home inspection they found a hole in the roof. I'm getting an estimate next week from some roofers but my bank won't lend with a faulty roof. Is there any chance i can get their bank to pay for a new roof?

I'm sure my Realtor will know more next week but this is my first house so i was really getting my hopes up.
