Could you guys help me understand the "War On Drugs" better & learn more about marijuana's good & bad effects? I need to convince boyfriend smoking in moderation is okay.

Note: Upvote so this gets noticed! Really important to me! okay, so, i used to smoke, loved it & never thought too much about it. now i'm dating this guy who hates it (yeah) & he made me quit. I love him too much to dump him, so I really would like to convince him that a smoke once in a while ain't so bad, but he is so close minded & thinks weed is so bad for your health (he thinks alcohol & cigs are fine though ug) so could all of you do your best to find out hard ass facts about weed & the side effects & the possible side effects? Also why it's really illegal & whether that's fair? I really want to smoke again, but i'm not good at looking up shit (plus i'm lazy) so help me make a good argument for a close-minded person?
