Gauze in a sploof?

Hey, so at work we had first aid training (and i am now first aid certified, the scene is safe motherfuckers), and there was gauze compression bandage stuff rolled up in a cylinder and i was like "aw shit, that looks like it would fit in a toilet paper tube." And so I took it home and it fills the tube, so I've been exhaling my vape into it. What I want to know is if it will get really dirty and smell if I use it for smoke or vape a lot into it.
