Can you hear enemies footsteps with sitrep pro even if they are using dead silence now?

I have been killed a few times lately by people hearing my footsteps and then getting the drop on me and killing me. I have never been able to hear dead silence users even with sitrep pro. How are these guys hearing me when I use dead silence and they have sitrep pro equipped?
