Is double XP broken?

I played a few games with my friends, and when the round ended, I was first out of all 24 players, while my friend was on second place overall. But I don't have PREMIUM, my good friend Cryptic-Panther does. He noticed that he got the MVP award, which was weird since I was on the top spot. Now I check battlelog, and what do I get? SQUAT. Nothing! Not even MVP 3 after getting the highest score in the match! Also I had been moved about three spots down from what the scoreboard showed.

In my opinion, double XP should be awarded at the end of the game, thus not robbing players who don't have the oh so shiny PREMIUM of their hard earned MVP ribbons. God dammit DICE
