Waxed everything off. Now can't orgasm. Any ladies experienced this?

I'm in a LTR for 6+ years and I used to be able to orgasm 4-5 times every time we have sex. During that time, I kept it all natural or slightly trimmed. A couple months ago, my SO told me how much it'd turn him on to see me completely bare. So, I waxed everything off and have not been able to orgasm ever since. It almost feels like my clit is too overstimulated and I end up backing off from my orgasm. I feel like I need that barrier (friction?) from my pubes. However, I can still masturbate to orgasm just fine. I was just wondering if anybody else has experienced this. Is this something you have to get used to? Does it get better?

TL;DR I think my clit needs a little coat.
