If you were creating the ideal radio station, what would it include?

I have been in the Canadian radio industry for 20 years. Sadly, I think we are in trouble because I don't think there is much genuine creativity left. It's all big box and homogenous. My solution? I am making a play to buy a station in a major Canadian market. I have lots of thoughts about what my station will sound like but I am very intererested in Reddit's. What do you want from a radio station? Remember... this is a private, commercial enterprise. In other words, I do need to have a product which will attract listeners and, thus, advertisers. That "Ode to Cats and Narwhales" station might be awesome, but my pockets aren't that deep.
