As a new atheist, I'm having problems rationalizing why we are here, some comments?

I'm pretty new to atheism and am not strong in science but that's not really the question. Calling myself an atheist even though I knew no religion made sense was only difficult because I used to think that there was a purpose for being here and that was obviously a god. Now, I can't really see the point other than to exist, and that's definitely difficult for me to wrap my head around. Any help? Anyone else have these problems?
