TTS with APR Stage 2 ECU/TCU Tune, APR Downpipe, Midpipe, and Cold Air Intake (Carbon Fiber, Open), and H&R Lowering Springs - Any Suggestions for Future Mods?

Big turbos my guy
I'm afraid this might very well be the move. Have a turbo you'd recommend?
No clue on these cars. I went SRM for mine, im not sure if they have plug and play for yours. Id check some audizine.com threads on your platform
I literally clicked just to hear the engine and the best you could do is open door chime. I feel cheated.
I have pretty much the exact same car. Same color both exterior and interior. APR stage 2, down pipes, carbon fiber air intake, intercooler. Difference is I did not lower, but I did replace the exhaust.
I had a full new paint protection film installed when the car was new. I am super particular about how I detail the car and it still looks new inside and out.
I don't have any planned upgrades, I just enjoy the car.
Depending on where you live, I would suggest a set of winter wheels and tires. With winter tires, the car does great in bad weather. I swap the performance tires with the winters around Thanksgiving then back around Easter. Been doing this since I bought the car in 2016.
Very nice. What do you think of your intercooler?
I can't say really. I had it installed with a lot of others changes. About 6 months after buying the car I got the APR stage 1 tune. No hardware, tune only. As we all know, that was an immediately noticeable difference in performance. A year after that I got the intake, down pipe, exhaust, intercooler, and stage 2 tune. The sound is different (in an awesome sort of way) but the power difference was not a dramatic jump like the stage 1 tune felt. I got the intercooler at the suggestion of the tuning shop. Not for the supposed HP gains, but to help keep the whole system cooler.
Figured I’d update-
I got the APR intercooler for my car. Absolutely notice a difference. Mostly in consistency in performance. 10/10 worth it
Ditching APR
Do you prefer Unitronic over APR? I've heard some people here and there say Unitronic is better... not sure what's wrong with APR though. Would love to hear
Have Unitronic and I lose boost at 3-4 and 4-5 shift. Must be conflict between ecu&tcu rev limit but Unitronic has given me 0 help on resolving it. Fck them
Sounds like Unitronic
that's Uni for you. They feel they've learned/developed this platform as much as possible and now absolutely do not care.
You figure you spend 1600$ with a company they would at least give af but I guess I am wrong. I have no recourse other than going nuclear on them online/socials which I personally hate doing but I am at that point.
I do.
I just don't think APR is all that competitive anymore.
Their approach is to spike the boost to create a lot of low end torque, for a car that feels faster than it actually is. Whereas, Uni relies more on ignition timing and creates a more linear powerband that opens up a bit more up top.
That said, I would take IE over either. Unitronic gave up on this platform and doesn't give a F about their customers.
240p
Apologies. It's 4k on my phone. I guess Reddit compresses video files pretty harshly?
One day I can be that….
Would you recommend the red seats? I’m on the fence.
Absolutely. The only other color I would consider for a TT with a black exterior would be black, but I would definitely choose red over black. What other colors are you considering?
Thanks! I chose chronos grey (exterior) for my 23’ TTS. I only saw the red seats in pictures and need to pick between red and black seats :)
Oh I love chronos grey. I think red seats would contrast the grey a bit better. If you'd prefer a more understated feel, I'd choose black
intercooler.
How’s your car
Glad you asked! She’s seen her first track day and is getting an Ohlins coilover suspension installed with Hyperco springs. Also installed an APR intercooler since the time of this video. Next most probable mods- RS3 brake cooling scoops and turbo inlet pipes
Wait what are rs3 brake cooling scoopts? Is that to make the front look more aggressive? Please help. Glad your car is doing well, you inspired me to get mine.
Oh I just now noticed you have a TTS too! A 2017 no less. A quality choice :P
Reddit prob won’t let me post the URL for ECS tuning’s listing but they’re called “RS3 Front Brake Air Duct Kit”, and the part number is ES#4007344. Note you prob won’t need these unless you take your car to a track
You’d like the Audi club in my region. The main guy who runs the track stuff is a sponsored time trial driver. He currently has a (ludicrously modded) RS3 and he’s planning to sell it for a MK3 TTS to use as his main car. Apparently the TTS is a better modding platform than the TTRS?
Have you modded yours at all?
Sorry for writing a lot but I forgot one thing- if you want the front end to look more aggressive you’ve got a number of options. 1. Lower it. Our car looks so much better lower, and a lower ride height is better for the track. 2. Aero parts, whether it be an aero kit or parts from a TTRS
I just googled aero kit for tts and fainted… I have no mods. I wanna go stage 2.
What are your 0-60 and 1/4 mile times with the stage 2 tune? I have an S3 with the same tune and same mods and I'm curious since both cars have very similar engines.
I wish I knew. There aren't a ton of drag strips around me
If you want to know your times look into getting a Dragy. You can find one for around $100-150 and they're very accurate. You can record your 0-60, 0-100, 60-0, 1/4 mile, etc and share it on a leaderboard to compare with others. You can also record video and overlay info on top of it.
Get a hybrid turbo and go stage 3.
I have a MK2 with almost all the same mods - did you have APR re-work the HPFP? I sent it in to them before I got the stage 2+ tune
Nope. I figured the HPFP would be mainly for people wanting to make their car a committed track-only car. What do you think of it?
It daily drives great, completely streetable, and on certain Autocross layouts I can even beat my buddy’s supercharged lotus Elise. Only downside is that it’s 93 octane mandatory (other years may be able to switch between tunes but not available on my application) - an intercooler would be the other mod I would consider, maybe bigger brakes but only if I was tracking it beyond the very occasional track day.
Just buy a TTRS
You should get the front windshield tinted. Mine is 30%
Lightweight wheels.
IMS 850 kit 👌🏼
Seat time at a track.
How the f you gonna put all those mods in the title but the video shows none of it, not even an engine start? What a jip.
I mean, nice car and all up but sheesh…
I was going to say the same thing lmao
Same thought
