J.G Vibes, author of Alchemy of the Modern Renaissance and founder of Good Vibes Promo will be hosting a philosophy discussion at one of the fastest growing events on the east coast, the Big Dub Candy Mountain Festival. This will take place during the afternoon on Saturday August 11th under the main pavilion. Those who were there last year will know what to expect, this will be an audience powered discussion, where you will have the freedom to join in and add to the conversation at any time!
The full content of this discussion is dependent upon you and the other audience members, but we will start off the afternoon by talking about natural law, the non-aggression principle, nonviolent communication, rational shamanism and how all of that ties in with rave culture.
The counter culture is a safe haven for creativity, new ideas and revolutionary philosophy, this is why our music and art is so far beyond what is seen in the mainstream. In many ways the raves and festival events that are growing in popularity these days are simply the newest incarnation of the ancient celebrations in which our shaman ancestors would party, sing, dance and discuss philosophy for days on end before returning to their everyday lives. In an age as confusing and chaotic as the one that we are living in it is extremely important to have these kinds of events to celebrate life, share our ideas and develop a better understanding of the world around us.
Badass Raves, 4 Quarters Farm and the other crews involved with this event are doing the community a great service by welcoming an organized philosophy conversation at their festival. Hopefully this is a trend that more promoters catch onto, because this is an essential part of our culture that should become commonplace at these kinds of events.
