Scott Gumbleton

What are the thoughts on essendons persistence with Scott Gumbleton? My own opinion on the matter is that they will never get an AFL level player out of him. It is unfortunate, but he's been pegged as the future of the bombers for about 5 years now and he can't escape injury. Are they wasting resources on him?
