[Update] One month on keto 21.5 pounds down.
So its been a whole month since I started keto, I can't believe that its been that long. It seems like time just passed by so quickly, most likely due to how engrossed I got with learning everything I could about keto.
So I weighed myself this morning, down 3.5 pounds this week from 213.5 to 210. This is a huge drop, so I'm thinking I was a little more dehydrated than I normally am on weigh in days. However, the 21.5 pounds I have lost since starting keto is still an amazing feat and and I am proud of it (especially since I've been shooting for the 2lbs loss I've been getting week after week).
My shirts and pants are getting a lot more baggy, however very little weight has been lost in my face. I cannot wait until my face gets a little more defined. However, until then I'll be happy with the ~4" I've lost off my waist and my noticeably thinner thighs.
After a month without exercise besides walking 2 to 4 km a day, I've started to do some working out. I tried to start 100 push ups but I failed, had no will power and took 2 - 5 days in between each session in week 1. I started over and will be doing day 2 tomorrow. I am determined to do this, no matter how many times I make my self restart it until I force it into my schedule. I know that this will be the real first step to getting the physique I really want... as skinny fat is not something I am aspiring to be.
Eating has been the easiest part of keto... which makes the whole change in my diet seem like I am just eating normally. I don't even notice that I am on keto anymore, I am just eating. I've tried a few recipes although two have become a staple for my diet, fast and easy to make they really keeping on keto easy, the two recipes are:
These two recipes are amazingly quick lunches, take very little time to prepare or cook... and take very little thought as well. I recommend everyone try these two. If you barely like broccoli then these will turn you into a broccoli lover (did it for me). If you hate broccoli, the broccoli fritters might appeal to you, my gf will eat them and she hates broccoli says it tastes too much like iron.
So far keto has been pretty good to me, I don't think I will have a hard time sticking to keto until my goal weight and possibly after (if not keto then paleo), I mean its been a month and I haven't cheated yet.
Now the only thing I need, is more recipes to try. My gf wants to try keto, but doesn't like a lot of the things that I am filling my diet with (mostly the vegetables). I am trying to find recipes that will appeal to her. If anyone has any suggestions then I would love to hear them... looking for non-spicy, non-broccoli heavy, flavorful dishes that I can prepare for her. Anything would be greatly appreciated :).
