Big Gesture or Patience; What gives me the best chance to get her back.

I'm going to make this short and sweet. I was neglectful of a girl I love, she moved on and at the time that's what I wanted. She moved away and was at first very communicative, but has increasingly become more withdrawn (less letters, ignoring emails calling off communication over IM). I have every reason to believe she is angry at me for asking for the very same things that I refused to give her when she needed them. I recently quit my job and quit smoking pot. I've since explained to her that I know firsthand that I made mistakes, that I'm ready and waiting to be all that she wants. I know that normally that's all I could do, but do the rules change if all she was asking me all along to do more and be more. Should I take action (I'm prepared to move mountains) or let her make her own decisions?

I should mention that her tone has drastically changed in the span of one month and she always says she misses me, and her last letter which was the worst one yet, ended with the phrase "I close my eyes and think of being with you and it makes me smile."

But no more I love yous.
