[Spoiler] With new knowledge of his back story Amon's plans to get rid of bending sound kind of silly.

What made Amon think just getting rid of people's bending would mean that it wouldn't be passed on to offspring? The season 1 finale showed he is proof that it can still be passed on as his father Yakone had his bending

Yes his way of removing bending was different to Aang's as it was said to be done by blood bending, but shouldn't that mean it is physiological instead of spiritual so even more likely to be passed on.
