parents barely let me do anything fun on my own

title says it all. tomorrow the 24th is the Boston Reddit meet up and they wont let me go becaues they think everyone on the internet besides those we know is a creepy killer, which is definitely not true. also they wont let me go to any concerts with friends because, while theyre primarily metal bands, "it's not a good crowd." my friends that i would go with are all mainly guys that all play hockey and are pretty big. im 6' 4" myself. one of my friend's sister and her boyfriend are in on it to and the boyfriend is a marine. it seems like the only time they let me have fun is when theyre involved. im 17 for fuck's sake. i can take care of myself. then they complain that i spend too much time on my computer. the only reason i do that is because

• i go to boarding school

• all of my friends live at least 45 minutes away and its tough to coordinate something

don't get me wrong, i love both my parents, but i need to get out and do something. i cant wait to get to college so i can go do whatever i want
