Does anyone know where I can find pictures of various bee/wasp stingers?

I found a large stinger in my dog. I don't have a good macro camera, but it's jet black, about 1/4-1/2 inch long, and there are three equidistant barbs on it, almost like hairs. My dog's eyes were puffy, and he was vomiting, but he got better fairly quickly. I'd like to figure out what this was, as I know wasps and hornets don't have barbed stings, and it looks different than the jagged barbs I've seen with most bees. Maybe it's even a plant of some sort? This is in the Blue Hill Mountains of Northern Georgia.
