Looking to start reading Batman, and not sure where to start.

I've been a pretty avid Marvel fan for the last few years, but I've grown a bit disenchanted with their franchises. So, I've been looking into DC Comics, specifically Batman, and I'm wondering where to start?

I want to start a list so that when I got to Toronto's Fan Expo, I know what to look for and hopefully I can pick up a few good comics for cheap.

Any advice is much appreciated!
